All Saints Day ~ All Souls Day

What's Cookin'?

Here is a recipe for whole wheat pitas.  We've been making pitas for a while off and on but I'm always willing to try new pita recipes.  I don't heat my oven as high as 500F as the recipes says.  I'll try 400F (even that is pushing it on my oven).

All Saints Day!

We are hosting a gathering to celebrate All Saints Day this year and (gulp!) I'm not sure what to do!  I've started browsing to get ideas and here are some so far... I'm making myself stop looking and we'll choose from these ideas.

Saints Bingo (what a blessing that she shares with us!):

Another wonderful bingo option.  I may print out just enough of these call cards to hand out as party favors:

Somewhere I saw some great saint pictures to use as cupcake picts (?)... Now where were they???  Aha!  Here is the link for the cupcake idea and also the link from where she got the saint badges to cut out for the cupcake toppers:

This shows all of the saints that they have for products:

**Litany of the Saints (print and have handy for us to pray as a family):

Saintly Treats.  Too cool.  I can't wait to go through these with the girls and decide on which ones and substitutions (for example, I've found some acceptable breadsticks that we could use instead of pretzels for St. Bernadette's Firewood).  How fun!

Check out her amazing rendition of Guess Who? with saints!!

Parade of Saints paper dolls (with link to print from  Paper Dali - click on a saint's name on the side bar and if it's not retired there should be a link to a pdf under the picture)(use popsicle sticks and stick in styrofoam/floral foam blocks)

An All Saints Day Linkup.  How great is that??

Saint candles?  I make some for Lent (Stations of the Cross) and it wouldn't be too hard for each child to make one if I can find cheap votive holders.

More games!  For the 'canonize the saint' I would rather print a card and glue it to a water bottle rather than use statues (okay, so I actually don't have very many statues!). Another link has the printed (and laminated) saint card stuck to a skewer and stuck into the ground.  These can then be used for a cupcake walk.
