Practical Life: Microfiber cloths

Am I the last person in the country to get a microfiber cloth?  Today I got 3 low-quality clothes for 3/$3.00 (or $1 each) at Dollar General.  I tested it on the dc's bathroom mirror and was so pleasantly surprised!  It cleaned the mirror sparkly clean with just water.  So, I called them all and demonstrated on another mirror.  Now they can clean the mirrors with no harsh chemicals; no more Windex (Can you believe I even let my olders anywhere near ammonia???? No more 'wear gloves and turn on the ventilation fan'!!)

I'm keeping one under each bathroom sink; along with the wonderful homemade 'soft scrub' and sponge that is already in each cabinet.  More independence in Practical Life, no harsh chemicals.  Youngest dd can use these as well with no problem, although I need to get her a step stool (that's been on my list for a while so she can reach the washing machine easier).  Here are some I found on Amazon:

Search Amazon.com for microfiber cloth

Some claim to be antibacterial, such as the Norwex (Norwex has gotten good reviews in blogs and forums that I've read):

What's Cookin'?

Tonight we had an arm roast cooked in the crockpot (grass fed - so tasty and healthy!), sweet potato and apple casserole (a big hit!), and eggplant with spinach (What's this, Mommy?).  To make the eggplant I diced it, salted it, let it rest, patted it dry, and cooked in butter and oil.  As I scooped it into the serving bowl I sprinkled a bit of mozzarella on top and mixed it in.  Then I cooked a last tiny bit of spinach from the refrigerator in the oil and mixed that with the eggplant.  *I* thought it was delicious.

Oldest dd was my superhero tonight!  There was some bone marrow in the bone from the arm roast.  I told her that I had read on a forum that some use it as a spread on crackers.  I'm extremely squeamish (much to my own chagrin!) so I'll just sort of include it in the bone broth we get from the bones.  On the other hand, oldest dd is not and tried it straight.  Straight bone marrow.  Ewww.  I'm sorry, I'm not there yet, lol.  She said it was good - just don't think about what it is while you are eating it.

  2. Hi Jo,

What's "sad" water? Do you mean just plain water? Am I putting too much thought into it, lol?

    Thanks!
