I agree with you regarding chronological but in my HS plan I'm evening things out with what really happened in life :). On the chart (from the link) classical has ancients in 9th, then Middle Ages in 10th, etc. I just had to look at all aspects and see what would round out their history experience and give them their credits at the same time.

No, we do not have to teach the same scope/sequence as PS but you can see what our local PS does in the graph. They only do history in 10th (world) and 11th (US). I was surprised!

In general I use a spine AND put it together on my own. Rather, I pick and choose now and quit writing my own units for the most part. We use the spine but also lapbook. We just finished using a Homeschool in the Woods lapbook unit which I plan on posting about soon with pics.

BTW, for a history spine I use From Sea to Shining Sea from the Catholic Textbook Project to balance out our other sources and will use All Ye Lands (I think).

Blessings!Bamboohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15994594297936498029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588932453570504602.post-58893948087968107102010-01-09T05:59:44.852-08:002010-01-09T05:59:44.852-08:00Do you have to teach the same as the public school...Do you have to teach the same as the public schools? What curriculum are you going to use or do you put together your own? I guess I'm just a Classical in the sense that I like chronological for history. I'm so glad I stopped by your blog from your SHS sigReneehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08739029410584701609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588932453570504602.post-76140428809684978332009-12-31T11:58:59.605-08:002009-12-31T11:58:59.605-08:00Fiona,
